Coach Roy brings a wealth of personal experience to our program, having navigated the recruitment process in high school and the NCAA transfer portal. His achievements, including being an 8-time team conference champion, a 1-time All-American, a 1-time All-West Region selection, and a 4-time All-Conference honoree, reflect his commitment to excellence in athletics and academics.
With a Master’s degree in Business Management from Azusa Pacific University and a Bachelor’s Degree in Sport Management from Minnesota State University, Mankato, Coach Roy has over seven years of experience in Collegiate Track and Field. His journey in coaching began during his collegiate career at Maple Grove High School, where he discovered his true calling while navigating a season-ending injury.
In addition to leading TST, Coach Roy also coaches Track and Field at the University of Northwestern St. Paul, a private Division III institution. In his two years there, he’s coached over 47 All-Conference UMAC Athletes, 31 UMAC Champions, and one NCCAA All-American. He has also helped the Eagles break over 24 School Records.
At the high school level, he’s coached 5 individual/relay State Champions in the Minnesota State High School League (6A), a top 50 women’s 400m Outdoor mark in the country in 2024, as well as over 7 school records between Saint Michael Albertville High School and Maple Grove High School
